Hitting the road for the upcoming holiday? Read these travel tips for Memorial Day Weekend!
Memorial Day is a great time to plan a vacation with the family but it’s also one of the busiest travel days of the year. If you’re planning on hitting the road, check out these 3 travel tips for your family road trip this Memorial Day Weekend.
1.) Plan any breaks/pit stops ahead of time. It’s important not to stay on the road too long, no one wants to drive 4 hours without taking a quick pit stop but it’s also good to plan any breaks ahead of time. Will you stop every 2 or 3 hours? How long should each stop take? Pack snacks for the little ones to avoid any rumbling tummys while on the road and make sure to stop every few hours for bathroom breaks and to stretch those legs.
2.) Traveling with kids? Then, you’re most likely looking for ways to entertain your kids during a long road trip. A metal cookie sheet is a great lap desk for coloring and puzzles! Stock up on coloring books and puzzles before you hit the road and you’ll never hear those dreaded words, “are we there yet?”
3.) The most important travel tip for a holiday weekend is, avoid rush-hour travel times. This means, do most of your driving in the early morning or evening.
