Family Friendly Activities in New Jersey
Liberty State Park plays an important role in the New York Harbor area thanks to the reinvention of the waterfront in 1976. Today it is the perfect spot for a sunny BBQ or picnic and recreational sports are allowed. Take a stroll along The LIBERTY WALK promenade on the eastern edge of Liberty State Park attractions or Board the Statue of Liberty Ferry across the water to explore the famous lady herself and Ellis Island where so many entered the United States for the first time.
Turtle Back Zoo is a great place the whole family can visit, with plenty going on every day. The animals tend to be most active first thing in the morning, which makes for loads of fun. When you arrive at the zoo you will find a daily activity board inside the front entrance advertising the day’s activities. Late afternoon is also a good time to visit as most animals are being fed then. Apart from all the outdoor enclosures and displays, the zoo also has several indoor exhibits, so come rain or shine, it’s worth a visit.
