Cold Weather Wedding Guide: 3 Top Tips for a Cozy Affair

Don’t let cold weather stop you from having the wedding of your dreams.

Cold Weather Wedding Guide

If your wedding is winter-bound, there are plenty of things you can do to make it enjoyable for both you and your guests. The Knot, Bridal Guide, Bridal Musings, and New Jersey Bride all have tips and suggestions, but we’ve narrowed it down to the most important ones.

Check out the cold weather wedding guide below and read up on how to have the perfect day – whatever the weather.

3 Tips for Winter Weddings in NJ

1.    Dress Appropriately

You don’t want to spend your big day shivering constantly. If you’ll be getting married with frigid temps outside, you can be elegant and warm, stylish and cozy – and so can your wedding party.

For instance, consider tights, closed-toe shoes, shawls, fur stoles, or matching formal coats for the bride and bridesmaids. Formal dresses with sleeves are also an option. The groom and groomsmen can opt for dark formal coats, matching scarves, and dressy gloves to keep the chill away.

2.    Run with a Cozy Theme

Who doesn’t love getting cozy on a cold day?

In the same vein, your guests will appreciate cozy touches for your wedding and reception. Glowing and flickering candles give a warm ambiance, and providing soft blankets in a chilly venue is a thoughtful touch. Special drinks like hot cocoa, cider, and hot toddies will warm guests down to their toes.

3.    Choose a Flexible Venue

In the colder months, guests will have layers to shed when they come in from the outdoors. The event venue should have a way to accommodate these, such as a coat area or a room for storing guests’ personal items, like outerwear.

No matter the weather, you can have a wonderful celebration. Follow these tips for a memorable cold weather occasion, and choose an event venue for beautiful winter weddings in NJ when you book with us at The Wilshire Grand Hotel.
