The Newark Museum will bring jazz outdoors at the Alice Ramson Dreyfuss Memorial Garden
As is tradition every year, the Newark Museum will celebrate summer with a concert series at their peaceful garden. For five consecutive Thursdays, starting July 7th, the Alice Ramson Dreyfuss Memorial Garden will reinvent itself as a music hall and host contemporary jazz musicians during lunch time. These concerts have been held for over 50 years and are one of the summer highlights in Newark.
This year’s, live jazz music in Newark will be presented by these talented artists:
July 7th: Lenny White, accompanied by Tom Guarna on the guitar and Ben Williams with the bass beats
July 14th: Solo singer and composer Charaneé Wade
July 28th: Mino Cinelu and the Reunion Drum Trio, with Mayra Casales's vocals and Madeleine Yayodele Nelson's drums
August 4th: Woody Shaw Legacy Ensemble
The season will close with two Friday evening events. A live jam session with Craig Handy & 2nd Line Smith on August 12th, and an evening of music with Ron Carter on September 16th.
Live jazz music in NJ is available for free for museum members, but visitors can take advantage of general admission at only $5 per concert. Jazz at the Garden can be a lovely highlight during your upcoming visit to Newark. At The Wilshire Grand Hotel, we would like to wish you a great time during these performances.
Until next week,
